An in-person non-certification class geared towards coffee professionals or aficionados who want to better understand the basic processing methods. The class covers a brief history of coffee processing, coffee harvesting methods, pre-cleaning measures and the standard post-harvest processing methods: natural, honey, mechanically demucilaged, fully washed, and wet hulled.
This Coffee Quality Institute in-person class is designed for coffee professionals and aficionados who want to learn about basic coffee processing methods at the farm. The goal is to understand the traditional processing methods and the importance of the coffee post-harvest processor in determining the flavor profile. The students get to see and use the processing equipment first hand and gain processing experience.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR(S)
Amin Ghasemzadeh is a Lecturer specializing in Post-Harvest Processing and Quality Evaluation. He is an Arabica Q Grader and a Post-Harvest Professional. Amin began his coffee journey as a barista in 2010 in Malaysia. Within a few years, he co-founded Posh Coffee Roastery. In 2019, he sold his business to become a full-time instructor. Since then, he has been teaching courses on Barista skills, Roasting, Sensory Evaluation, and Café Management. In 2022, Amin moved to the Philippines for two years to deepen his knowledge of coffee farming and post-harvest processing. In 2024, Amin moved to Vancouver as a freelancer quality control, educator and consultant.
